Have you ever swum 3.8 km in the ocean? Have you cycled 180 km? Have you run a marathon of 42.2 km? I can manage all three disciplines in such a time that it secured me a qualifying spot at the IRONMAN World Championship HAWAII 2024. Something achieved by about one percent of triathletes annually. It is a great success for me, but from a certain perspective, it means nothing. In the pursuit of modern world goals, we forget how precious our health is—our personal health and the health of our loved ones. For me, as the father of an 18-month-old son, his health and daily laughter are the greatest treasures. Any prestige I gained from my achievement, I want to use for a good cause. To help children and families who are currently fighting much tougher battles than ours. Positive change always consists of small pieces, and if you can add even a small bit of help, please do so. In Hawaii, my goal is to complete the race as close to a time of 9:00:00 as possible. I will personally support this challenge by donating one euro for every minute under 10 hours. I believe that together, the Ironman distance of 226 km = €226 will not stop us, and we will go even further.
