My name is Loránt Tóth and since 2018 I have been actively participating in camps as a volunteer in the role of an interpreter. I was lucky again this year and was chosen to join the team of volunteers to see if I can once again contribute a little to the miracle that the camp offers to seriously ill children from Slovakia and their families. And what makes this year special? I decided that I would go to the camp by bike, specifically from Hrhov (Slovakia) - Hatvan (up to the camp gates) and of course back again after the end of the camp. 🙂 🚴 In total, I have approx. 400 kilometers and an elevation gain of 2,500 meters. 😱 Perhaps you too would like to contribute your little bit to the miracle called Bátor Tábor (Brave's Camp) but in today's busy world it is simply not always possible. And that's why I decided to complete this challenge and thus provide an opportunity (and of course thank you very much) to those who would like to support my idea (and thus the organization Together with Courage itself), for example, even if only for the amount of one coffee, ice cream, or a drink. 🙂
Bátor Tábor, the ‘camp of courage’ is dedicated to provide life-changing experiences to seriously ill children and their families, and also to those families who have suffered the loss of a child. (https://spolusodvahou.org/sk/) I also set myself a challenge this year to cycle to and from the camp, where I took on the role of Interpreter CIMBORA. And you had the opportunity to "adopt" some kilometers and support the effort to get as many children to the camp as possible. I successfully completed the challenge, covering a total of 402.8 km with an elevation gain of 2,480 m. But this ...
I successfully reached my destination. After a week full of experiences at Bátor Tábor and short nights that lasted a maximum of 4 hours (the camp wasn't exhausting, I just didn't want to miss out on any experience 😁), I made it home. I managed to complete the challenge I set for myself. More detailed statistics will come tomorrow, I can't manage it today 🙂 But at least some info: today I did 205 km with an elevation gain of 1178 m, and here are a few photos." And a big glass of Granko is a must.☕️❤️🚴♂️🙂
Hi everyone. I took another break on the road. Half of the journey is successfully completed. 😁 115 km out of 200 km. Yay! However, I'm starting to feel the sleep deficit from Bátor Tábor. But I'm doing fine for now, so I'll rest a bit and then continue. ❤️🚴♂️🙂 Link to track my location: https://www.strava.com/beacon/sctjsL1wDbL
On the road again, but now heading home from Bátor Tábor, moving full steam ahead. The first 54 km out of 200 are already done. The weather is perfect. I’m a bit tired after the whole week, but everything is going smoothly. And a few pictures of how I was seen off by the most amazing people in the world: the CIMBORAS from BÁTOR TÁBOR. ❤️🚴♂️🙂 Link to track my location: https://www.strava.com/beacon/sctjsL1wDbL
Here I go. I have successfully arrived in Bátor Tábor (Brave's Camp). The week of fun can begin. A huge thank you to everyone who followed me and supported children with cancer ❤️ THANK YOU ❤️ But it's not over yet. 🙂 After the camp is over, I'm also planning a bike trip back.
And I am slowly approaching the finish. At the moment, I have covered 154 km, so if the planning app is correct, there are less than 50 km left and an elevation of 200 m. So, one last break, I'll replenish some energy, and we're going to the FINISH. ❤️🚴♂️
Somewhere halfway. More than 1/2 behind me. About 109 km. The weather is great. There is also a pleasant southerly breeze, but why just when I'm going south. 😁 I'll take a small lunch break, recharge my devices and myself and I can continue. 🚴
The first 1/4 of my trip is successfully completed. A comfortable 50 kilometres, fog here and there, but otherwise great. Let's continue. 🚴♂️🙂
Good morning. Here we go. I've finished breakfast and coffee and let'sgo. 🚴♂️🙂 Link to track my location: https://www.strava.com/beacon/pWlY1iJh26x
All set and ready to go As I mentioned, I leave at 5:00 in the morning. I packed everything and I can't wait. 🙂 In the morning, I will attach a link here, where you will be able to follow in real time how I am doing and where I am right now. And now time to relax. 🙂🚴
